Homework Ice Cream Party!

We had such a fun letter Xx day. We had eXtra recess and also had our ice cream party for turning in homework! Yummy!

Vv is for "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"

Today was a fun day. I love all of the Eric Carle books. We read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and then wrote our own class book of it. They all got a different number and had to make a page for the book of what he ate. He ate things like 5 corn dogs and 7 cupcakes. They were super creative. Then they all got to make our own caterpillar that spells out their name. They turned out super cute. 

Tt is for Talents! Our Kindergarten Program!!

Today we got to share our talents with our parents at our Kindergarten Program. They were pretty excited to perform for their parents and did a fantastic job! I sure love these kids and am going to miss them!

Ss is for S'mores!

We made S'mores! The kids wrote step by step instructions on how to make a S'more. Then we got to make s'mores of our very own. We put them in the sun to melt. They were delicious!

(The afternoon class was way too excited to eat their s'mores that a picture was not happening)

Rr is for Rock!

Yesterday, we made pet rocks to celebrate the letter Rr. We got to paint them and then gave them some eyes. During centers, we got to name our pet rock and write about some of its favorite things. At another center we got to look at different types of rock. Each student chose their favorite and then had to describe what it looks like.

Pp is for Pirate!

On Monday, we celebrated the letter Pp by dressing up as Pirates. Kindergarten pirates say "are". It was such a fun day!!

Mm is for Musical Instruments!

We had a super fun day making music! On Wednesday's we get to do centers which gives us the chance to do lots of fun activities. Since we were celebrating the letter Mm for Musical instruments we made some tambourines of our own. We also got to compose our own songs. I had jars full of water at different levels. They wrote down a song and then got to try playing it. They loved it!

Ll is for Light Saber!

We had a super fun day today celebrating the letter L. I have never seen Star Wars (I know... some of you might be a little upset by that) but this was one of my favorite days. I might just have to watch them this weekend now. We all got mini light sabers that helped us read our sight words. They had a lot of fun reading with the lights off and pointing with their light sabers. We even took a little break and got to freeze dance to the Star Wars music.
